Movement. Timing. Control.

No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu in Yuma

Train grappling without the traditional gi. No-gi practice builds control through body positioning, movement, and grips on your partner rather than their uniform.

Two training partners practicing no-gi grappling on the Dune Sea mats

What is no-gi?

No-gi jiu-jitsu is practiced in athletic clothing, commonly a rash guard and grappling shorts. Without jacket and sleeve grips, students work with body connections such as underhooks and wrist control.

Training explores standing exchanges, guard work, passing, pinning, escapes, and submissions.

Learn by solving problems

We combine technical instruction with live games and positional situations. A clear task helps you recognize opportunities, test decisions, and understand why a movement works.

Good training partners allow each other to learn while respecting the tap and the coach’s instructions.

Youth and adult training

The current schedule includes kids no-gi and adult no-gi sessions. Contact us to choose the appropriate class for your age and experience.

Thursday Adult No-Gi meets at 5:30 PM with Coach Ennis. See all sessions on the class schedule.
